General Information
Ventura College provides a complete support system for the athlete that includes:
athletic advising, athletic trainer, two equipment mangers, faculty mentor program,
tutoring program, study tables, and complete indoor and outdoor facilities. Training
and conditioning are possible year-round in temperate, seaside San Buenaventura. y
Ventura College provides a quality athletic program both in breadth and depth
of offering that will challenge your skills, be sensitive and responsive to
your academic needs and prepare you to transfer to a four-year college or university.
Ventura College is a member of the Western State Conference and the California
League of Community Colleges/Commission on Athletics (COA). We abide by all
the conference constitution, bylaws, and sports supplements. We abide by the
COA Athletic Code. The Dean of Physical Education/Athletics, the Athletic Director
and the eligibility clerk determine all athletic eligibility.
The Athletics Director and Dean monitor the integrity of the athletic program
regarding rules, compliance, and eligibility.
Any prospective student-athlete not living within Ventura County or the contiguous
geographical community college districts to Ventura County desiring information
regarding athletic participation at Ventura College is required to first make
contact with a representative of Ventura College either in writing, electronically
or by telephone.
